open sesame

as i'm sure you all know by now (or at least most of you reading this) Linden Labs has made the decision to release the source code for the SL viewer.

some peeps are flipping out. I believe one person's reaction was "Armaggedon! Outta here!", but in general it seems that most people are thankful and/or optimistic. i think that sure, it's a scary kind of thing but i also think that in the long-run this will only make things better for everyone involved.

it's kind of like telling the world what color panties you're wearing. doesn't mean they're gonna get inside your pants - they just know what color panties you're wearing. ok it's nothing like that really.
