like a chick in a candy shop!
Second Life is about to change in a few ways that I must say, I'm pretty freaking excited about.
We've got the release of 'sculpties' now which allows for the creation of new, sculpted prims in-world. From what I understand, this is done by creating the object itself in a separate 3-D software, then uploading that into world and applying it to a standard prim. Pretty cool, but one more thing I have to learn now.
I'm also fairly excited about this new "WindLight atmospheric rendering". According to the website: "WindLight “simulates the ways that sunlight is scattered by the atmosphere under different climatic conditions, such as fog or haze”. Long story short: killer skies and kickass environments.". Ok by me. Bring it.
Lastly... voice. This little beauty has been a serious cause of alarm, panic, outrage, and extreme joy (depending on who you ask). I know some people are dreading the addition of voice (and, it seems they have a few more weeks of freedom until they have to panic about it 'destroying everything' - thanks for keepin us all in the loop there Linden Labbers! 'Preciate it!), but I think it'll be fantastic - IF (and this is a big 'if') it works as well as they say it does. I think it's something that will lend itself beautifully to furthering a sense of community in-world and I can't wait to sit down in Open Latte and chat with peeps.
Looking forward to change.
