Folk Fest Wrap-up
It came, it went, and it ROCKED the socks off me.
The First Mill Pond Folk Festival held in Mill Pond and Stone Hill started Friday and ended Saturday night and was packed full of live performers, musicians, and guests. I think the final total of attendance was over 1500 people total. Pretty f'ing amazingly fantastic.
As one of the organizers I knew it would be a great event, but it honestly wasn't until I took a break from managing the Stone Hill stage and went over to the Tavern Stage where the Montreal performers were based.. that I really realized how powerful this event was. I'm still moved by the atmosphere there. The Tavern stage featured live performers from Montreal, Canada that don't really have their own avatars in Second Life, but were all brought together by Montian Gilruth and took turns performing while surrounded in real-life by all of the other musicians. The atmosphere there was amazing. To hear people in the background singing along, commenting, applauding.. was truly a moving experience for me. I hope that others were able to feel that as well.
Second Life is an amazing place, with some fantastically amazing, talented people. Having the opportunity to feature so many in this setting was wonderful. Thank you to all of the musicians, artists, guests, and organizers. It was amazing, and you're why.
Many huge thanks go to Grace McDunnough for organizing, creating, distributing and pretty much taking charge of this entire event.

It was an amazing event, Micala.
I'm glad I could be at it.
It was great, good quality, the islands are beautiful by itself, but the design you chose for the festival stages was really perfect, and the musicias were very good, it was ver good organized too, people was really enjoing it, and I think musicians too, the perfect atmosphere for a live event.
The island didn't had lag or any issue during the performance, and the number of people there was awesome. Which is amazing if you think technical issues are no news at sl most times.
Very pleasant and very professional. Congrats!!!!!!!
and Thank you!!!!!!!
Irene
Thanks so much, Irene. A lot of work went into Mill Pond and Stone Hill and sometimes it's the 'little things' that make a difference like how the area 'feels' or how the stage looks, and I'm glad you felt it worked well. Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it.
